ENGINE FAILS TO START OR STARTS WITH DIFFICULTY

CAUSE

Controlsnot in start position

Spark plugwire disconnectedfrom spark plug.

Spark plugfouled.

Spark plugporcelain cracked.

Insufficientfuel.

Water or dirtin fuel.

Impropercarburetoradjustment

ENGINE LACKS POWER

CAUSE

Dirtyair cleaner.

Impropercarburetor adjustment.

Lackof lubdcaiton.

ENGINE MISSES UNDER LOAD

CAUSE

Spark plug fouled.

Spark plug porcelain cracked.

Improperspark pluggap.

Impropercarburetoradjustment

REMEDY

Move ENGINE CONTROL orequipment controlto "HI"or

START postion. See "STARTING" instructionsinthis

manual.

ConnectSPARK PLUG WIRE to SPARK PLUG.

Remove SPARK PLUG and clean it. See "SPARK

PLUG" instructionsin "MAINTENANCE' sectioninthis

manual.

Installnew spark plug.

Fill FUEL TANK per "BEFORE STARTING" instructions.

Drain FUEL TANK and re-fill withclean, fresh gasoline.

See "BEFORE STARTING" instructionsinthis manual.

Adjustcarburetor (if applicable). See "ADJUSTMENTS"

sectioninthis manual.

REMEDY

Replace orclean air cleaner per "AIR CLEANER'

Fill ellsump to proper level. See "BEFORE STARTING"
